Woodbine Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center Partners with Walgreens to Hold COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic
Residents and Healthcare Workers at Alexandria, Va., Skilled Nursing Facility Receive Pfizer Vaccine
ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 29, 2021 – In partnership with Walgreens, Woodbine Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Alexandria has held its second COVID-19 vaccine clinic for residents and healthcare team members. Pictured following her second dose of the Pfizer vaccine, which was administered by a pharmacist, is SaWanda Toney.
Under CDC recommendations, Phase 1a of the COVID-19 vaccine distribution included healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities. Vaccines at the Woodbine clinic were administered on a voluntary basis, free of charge.
Located at 2729 King St., Woodbine provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care, with a range of progressive, specialty skilled nursing services. The facility was recently recognized as Virginia’s top nursing home in Newsweek’s “America’s Best Nursing Homes 2021” and maintains a five-star rating in quality measures from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)
Woodbine is participating in the #GetVaccinated campaign of the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living, the nation’s largest association of long term and post-acute care providers.
